Welcome to the cyber-home of The Olde Caravan. Please pardon our dust, for we are constantly under construction!
UPDATE! 8/20/09
On the 16th, we closed our official season at Great Lakes Medieval Faire, and most of the Beshaldes are returning to their mundane lives. We may be visiting the Ohio Renaissance Festival and the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival piecemeal, and if we do, we will let you know.On that note, I (Jessica) will be appearing at the newly formed Ye Old State Renaissance Faire, and would love to see you there!

We've finally gotten up pictures of our 2009 cast just in time for the opening of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire. We've been rehearsing since May and we're looking forward to the opening this Saturday, July 11th. Be sure to stop by and see us!5/4/09
We completed our first contract of the season at the OSU Medieval & Renaissance Faire this past Saturday. The bad news is that I (Jessica) seriously injured my knee and am currently using a cane to get around. The good news is that the rest of the cast appeared in the Columbus Dispatch!- Jessica Ebert, co-director, The Olde CaravanThe Caption read:
When King William the Conqueror walks by, it's best to bow - as did these commoners Saturday at the Medieval & Renaissance Faire at Ohio State University. Paying their respects were gypsies Sarah Anderson (behind the king), Erin Politzer, Kara Laughard, Kellie Stewart and Chelsea Vandergrift. Rob Bohman portrayed King William, and the theme of the fair was the Norman Invasion of 1066.
The Olde Caravan is an up-and-coming performance group that brings a new way of thinking to Renaissance and medieval faire performance. Our cast includes many talented, passionate actors specially trained in the type of interactive improvisation that performing at faires requires, as well as a diverse amalgamation of specialized performance.
The Olde Caravan provides interactive performance in the format of a traveling caravan. Each performer has a fully-fleshed period persona, and we have spent a great deal of time cultivating a feeling of community, as any tight-knit family or traveling unit of the period would have had. Our characters can be dropped into any medieval or Renaissance village and help bring it to life. We are more than happy to interact with your cast to aid in creating a lived-in atmosphere for your faire.
